Take Control

Join the Conversation

Self-care is the ability of individuals, families and communities to promote health, prevent disease, maintain health, and cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a health worker.           Visit: https://www.who.int/health-topics

Facts and Key Points

1.  Self-care can empower individuals to manage their health.

2.  Improve overall well-being.

3.  Aim to move your body 30 minutes a day.

4.  Take breaks from social media or computer time.

5.  Learn to say “no” to do what is best for you.

We are on the battlefield, keep marching on.

Stand on Faith

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”    ~ 3 John 1:2 (KJV)

finish The Work

“Doing the work. Your keys to living successful.

  1.  Take care of your spiritual health.
  2.  Take care of your family/relationship health.
  3.  Take care of your physical health.
  4.  Take care of your mental health.
  5.  Take care of your financial health.

“There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.”  (Proverbs 23:18, NIV)

Focus and Move Forward

During times of mental health crisis take steps to do self-care on a regular basis.  Stay in the Word, mediation/quiet time and do something fun or relaxing.

Make It Personal To You

Something to Ponder

“Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.”        – Booker T. Washington

“If you want to fly, you have to give up the things that weigh you down.”                        – Toni Morrison

Reminder:  You are your biggest advocate.  There is no shame in admitting that you are struggling with an issue. Make things durable to work through your issue.  Being a “silent suffer” will only prolong healing.  Allow others to help stand in the gap for you, through prayer as you press through. Remember professional help is not the enemy, but a resource when you believe you are not moving forward.

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV)

The possible is not out of reach — Jesus Christ specializes in possibilities.

May the Lord keep you well and bless you abundantly.

Follow the Light of Christ Jesus

My beloved brothers and sisters, pray to determine what area of your life needs improving or correction. May the Word of the Lord be your light.

Increase Your Faith Walk

“For all the promises of God in him are yea,
and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ,
and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also
sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in
our hearts.”

2 Corinthians 1:20-22

“For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.”

Exercise Tips

Safe Exercise

It is important to be safe and responsible when exercising for better health. Ensure you understand what you are doing and why. Always check with your doctor for older adults or if you have chronic health concerns. A few things to remember:

Home Workouts: Have plenty of space and if needed use sturdy furniture for support.

Outdoor Activities: Bright clothing during the day and reflective materials at night is best.

Strength Training: Avoid holding your breath and control rather than speed is better.

Clothing: Wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

Technique & Intensity: Beginners should start with lighter weights or lower intensity and use correct form.

Recovery: Ensure you slowly lower your heart rate with at least a 10-minute cool-down.

Preparation & Environment: Start with light cardio to increase blood flow and check the weather if exercising outdoors.

Safety Equipment: If necessary, wear protective gear.

Better health can be fun and safe.
